In our ongoing efforts to refine gameplay and address player feedback, we’ve made a series of targeted updates and enhancements to improve the overall experience. Our latest changes span new features, gameplay balance adjustments, UI improvements, and audio upgrades to bring greater depth and polish to the game.
To enhance the player experience, we’ve introduced Free Play Mode for when players join a server alone, allowing them to explore and engage with the environment solo. We’ve also adjusted the Beam Spell with a significant damage increase, adding more impact to this ability. Ammo and Durability are now being monitored closely, with added effects to reflect item usage and wear. For new players, we’ve updated the UI to display controls, helping them navigate and learn quickly. The camera angle has also been fine-tuned for optimal gameplay viewing.
On the audio front, sound effects have been added and modified for when players break pots and items reach their durability limit. We’ve also fixed an issue where players would die at the end of the game, even if it was a victory, to ensure a proper game-ending experience. Additionally, timer behavior has been revised to improve match timing and pacing, and we’ve added a new character known as “Hustle” from the Banter crew to further enhance the crypto ecosystem and narrative. With these updates, we’re committed to delivering an engaging and polished experience that keeps players immersed and excited.
Synchronization Fixes
We’ve identified some server synchronization issues that are impacting gameplay, and fixes are actively in progress. These issues surfaced during extensive testing across various WiFi connections and server environments, revealing occasional desynchronization between players. These would cause graphical and state issues. To address this, we are implementing ping rate adjustments and refining network variables to improve stability and reduce lag. By fine-tuning these aspects, we aim to create a smoother, more consistent experience for players, even on varied internet connections. Our goal is to ensure that all interactions remain in sync, allowing for proper gameplay.
Additional Gear
We have additional items being implemented in the form of advertisements and apparel. These additions not only offer players a more dynamic and visually engaging environment but also provide fresh opportunities for expression and cross community building.
Character Expansion
New characters are currently being created and rigged, with plans to roll them out as we move into late October and aim for an official release sometime in Q4. We’ve updated our supporter list to reflect recent collaborations and have added fresh characters who are not only relevant but also resonate with current trends and popular culture. These additions bring new energy and diversity to the game, allowing players to explore exciting, timely characters as they dive into our world.
Partnerships
We are happy to announce that several notable partnerships are coming to fruition and will enable us to expand into numerous communities. These collaborations range from gaming guilds all the way to meme-coins giving Moon Tropica diverse exposure to all of crypto.
Special FX
We’re enhancing the visual experience around interactions, including selecting, picking up, dropping items and frame transitions to make gameplay feel more intuitive, engaging and visually appealing. By refining these aesthetic elements, we aim to create a smoother, more enjoyable experience which allows players to navigate and interact with everything more effortlessly. These updates will help players feel more connected to their actions within the game, improving not only the usability but also adding a level of polish that makes each interaction feel satisfying and fun. Whether you’re managing your inventory or quickly picking up items in the heat of action, these improvements ensure a more immersive and seamless experience.
Public Testing
We’re excited to share that we’ve actively engaged our internal alpha group, along with Yield Guild Games (YGG)—one of the most prominent gaming guilds in the Web3 space—to accelerate our bug testing campaign as we prepare for the release of Moon Tropica. By collaborating with YGG, we’re leveraging their deep expertise and extensive community of seasoned Web3 gamers to thoroughly test gameplay mechanics, identify potential issues, and ensure a smooth, polished experience for our broader player base. This combined effort allows us to speed up the debugging process while gaining valuable insights from dedicated players, ensuring that Moon Tropica meets the high standards we’ve set for its public debut.
Continued Controller Optimization
We are continuously improving the controller and keyboard functionality based on feedback from our testers. As Moon Tropica is a one-of-a-kind game, we haven’t had an existing foundation to lean on, meaning each feature and control concept has been developed from scratch. This approach ensures that the controls are tailored specifically to our game’s unique mechanics, but it also requires extensive testing and iteration to refine the user experience. With every round of feedback, we’re working to make Moon Tropica as intuitive and enjoyable as possible.
New Maps
We are actively exploring new map designs internally and seeking feedback from our alpha community to help us create something truly engaging and memorable. By involving our community in the design process, we aim to build maps that resonate with our holders holders while also offering a unique, enjoyable leveled experience. Your insights are invaluable in shaping our world, and we’re excited to co-create environments that reflect the creativity and preferences of our player base.
Public Beta
We are currently evaluating what will be included in our upcoming beta release which can be played publicly. The debut should have a degree of refinement; however, it’s still early enough where we can gather meaningful feedback from our community to guide further improvements. This approach allows us to showcase a nice experience while remaining open to adjustments, ensuring that the final product reflects the preferences and needs of our players.
