Polishing Existing Game Elements

This month, our team has been hard at work polishing the core elements of our game to ensure a smooth and immersive experience for players. We’ve revisited various aspects of the game, including character animations, environmental details, and gameplay mechanics, to enhance their quality and consistency. Our goal is to refine every element, ensuring that the game not only looks great but also feels cohesive and engaging from start to finish. This polish phase is crucial as we approach our next major milestone, and we’re excited about the improvements we’re seeing.

Ongoing Bug Fixes

As with any game in development, bugs are an inevitable part of the process. Our dedicated QA team and private beta testers have been meticulously hunting down and squashing bugs to ensure the game runs flawlessly. From minor glitches to more complex issues, we’ve addressed a wide range of problems that could potentially disrupt the player experience. Regular playtesting sessions have been integral to identifying these bugs early, allowing us to address them promptly. This continuous effort is essential to delivering a polished and stable game, and we’re committed to ensuring the highest quality for our players.

Our team has also partnered with a prominent gaming guild to rigorously test the latest build, supported by a lucrative bug bounty program. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!

Controller Optimizations

The controller has undergone several iterations of modifications to best suit the average gamer profile. Since Moon Tropica is a first-of-its-kind video game, we anticipate further enhancing the controller elements over time as we introduce more weapons, attacks and physics.

The UI is now fully accessible using the controller, allowing for a mainstream gaming experience. This enhancement enables players to navigate through every aspect of the menus without the need for a keyboard or mouse, providing a more cohesive and complete feel. Whether you’re adjusting settings, browsing through levels, or managing in-game assets, everything can now be done directly with the controller in hand.

Despite the complexity and effort involved, our team dedicated the past few weeks to refining and enabling controller actions across the entire UI. We understood how important this feature is to delivering a fully immersive experience especially having to appeal to console gamers. We are proud to have this functionality this early to ensure our future players can enjoy smooth and intuitive menu navigation. As we continue to optimize aesthetics, we’re excited to gather feedback and make further improvements.

New Item Creations

We’ve also been busy creating a host of new items that will add depth and variety to the gameplay. These items have been designed with input from our community, ensuring they align with what players want to see in the game.

Some new swords to look out for:

  • Chaos Sword
  • Crystal Sword
  • Neo Sword
  • Obsidian Blade
  • Baguette

Some new shields to look out for:

  • Starchain Shield
  • Hamburger Bun Shield
  • Chaos Shield
  • Crystal Shield
  • Neo Shield

Whether it’s powerful new weapons, unique armor sets, or rare consumables, each item has been carefully crafted to enrich the game world and offer exciting new possibilities for players. These additions are not only functional but also aesthetically aligned with the game’s overall style, further enhancing the immersive experience.

Coding the Responsive UI

One of the significant tasks this month has been coding the responsive UI that was meticulously designed in Figma. Our design and development teams have worked closely to bring the sleek, intuitive interface to life. The new UI is fully responsive, ensuring a seamless experience across different devices and screen sizes. Whether you’re playing on a desktop or a mobile device, we anticipate the UI will adapt perfectly, offering a user-friendly and visually appealing experience. The transition from design to code has been smooth, and we’re thrilled with how the UI is shaping up.

Although there is a lot of work ahead, the foundation is there and our team is constantly updating it for the upcoming public beta.

Web2 Gamer Talks

Onboarding gamers to play Moon Tropica has been a key focus for us as we aim to build mass awareness and grow our player base. We’ve implemented various strategies, including engaging marketing campaigns, influencer partnerships, and community-driven initiatives, to attract players from both traditional gaming and crypto communities. However, being a crypto-focused game has presented unique challenges. Many traditional gamers are unfamiliar with blockchain technology, and there is often skepticism about the integration of cryptocurrencies in gaming. Additionally, the learning curve associated with setting up wallets and managing crypto transactions can be a barrier to entry for some players. Despite these challenges, we’re committed to making Moon Tropica accessible and enjoyable for everyone by offering clear guides, supportive community channels, and seamless onboarding processes to ease the transition for new players. Our goal is to bridge the gap between traditional gaming and the crypto world, creating a fun and rewarding experience that resonates with a broad audience.

Events & Community

On a mission to increase engagement and expand our player base, we have brought new members onto our team to focus on community growth and virtual event planning. Gathering a group of enthusiastic players to get together and play regularly will not only create a stronger sense of community but also help us better understand player feedback and preferences. These efforts will lead to more interactive events, challenges, and opportunities for players to connect, ensuring that the game continues to evolve with its growing community. Ultimately, this will create a more vibrant and active player base, setting the foundation for long-term success.

A lot more behind the scenes

In addition to these visible updates, there’s been a tremendous amount of work happening behind the scenes – this includes upcoming marketing events and recruiting of long term ambassadors.

From optimizing the game’s performance to preparing for upcoming content updates, our team has been pushing hard to ensure that every aspect of the game is polished and ready for the next phase. We’re also laying the groundwork for future features and expansions, ensuring that the game has a robust foundation for continued growth.

As we continue to refine and expand the game, we’re excited about what’s to come. The progress we’ve made so far is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, and we can’t wait to share more updates with you soon. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
